I love how this could be two pictures joined by the rail. Almost a 3-D pic! 14 Jan 2009 3:02pm @Barry: Haha, thanks a lot. And thanks everyone else as well, of course :) Steve Rice from United StatesA cool abstract. The selective color is great here. The abstract quality in your work is something I strive for, very nice indeed. 14 Jan 2009 5:54pm Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesI love the double arcs at right against the roof line arc on the left. I'll recognize my own prejudice as a purist in saying that I actually find the color distracting here - I think you have a fine black & white that would stand strongly on its own. I hope you'll forgive the 'two-cents worth'. 14 Jan 2009 7:01pm @Stephen Phillips: Thank you for your feedback. Yes, the image might have worked just as well as a complete b&w, i made the choice of having color in two places, however, because i wanted to preserve the beautiful colors of the original image. While my main focus was definitely on the structure and dynamic shape of the building, i didn't want, and also didn't want you to, miss out on a glimpse the original scenery. Of course, liking it or not is a matter of personal perference. :) zOOm from Paris, FranceInteresting capture and crop. Good idea for the selective color. 14 Jan 2009 7:55pm Shirin Moosavi from Tehran, IranLove the selective colors effect. Your shot reminds me of The Jetsons cartoon and all the beautiful and strange buildings high in the sky! 14 Jan 2009 8:58pm Kathryn from Warburton, Australiai love all of the lines in this image! and the selective colour is nice and subtle and works a treat! 14 Jan 2009 9:24pm Luis A. De Jesus R. from Mexico City, MexicoBeautiful execution: the selective color, and composition. 15 Jan 2009 11:45pm |
